Adrian Sutil lost a dramatic duel with pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel in the final lap and finished eighth as Force India added four valuable points from an eventful British Grand outing in Silverstone on Sunday.

His team mate Vitantonio Liuzzi was also involved in a wheel-to-wheel duel, with Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, before finishing 11th, just outside the points bracket.

Karun Chandhok, the lone Indian Formula One driver, placed 19th, ahead of his Hispania teammate Sakon Yamamoto, whose car was the last to the chequered flag.

Australian Mark Webber won the race for Red Bull. Britain's Lewis Hamilton was second for McLaren, 1.3 seconds behind, to extend his overall lead in the championship, while Germany's Nico Rosberg finished third for Mercedes.

Starting 11th on the grid, Sutil rose to fifth place before his only pit-stop and the German rejoined the race 14th.

From there, he worked his way up to seventh place after an eventful stint that saw him coming in contact with Pedro de la Rossa, sending some debris flying.

Vettel, whose race was compromised after an opening lap puncture following a tangle with eventual winner and Red Bull teammate Mark Webber, was all over his back and looked menacing but Sutil fought tooth and nail till he was pipped in the final lap.

While Sutil's duel with Vettel was one of the highlights of Sunday's eventful race, Liuzzi also showed tremendous grit as he staved off Alonso's challenge.

Liuzzi, who had qualified 15th but started 20th after copping a five-place penalty for deliberate obstruction in yesterday's qualifying sessions, gave it everything but still finished just outside the top 10.
