Fabio Capello [ Images ] will remain as England [ Images ] coach despite his team's woeful performance at the World Cup, the Football Association (FA) said on Friday.
The Italian's future in the role had been in doubt since the 4-1 defeat by Germany in the last 16 on Sunday but after a meeting of the Club England Board it was unanimously agreed that he would continue in charge.
"We are all still extremely disappointed at our performance in South Africa [ Images ], and we believed it was important that we took some time to reflect on everything in a calm and considered manner back in England," Club England chairman Dave Richards said on the FA's website (www.thefa.com).
