Sandeep strikes twice as India beat England in practice tie

Dragflicker Sandeep Singh converted two penalty corners to help India [ Images ] inflict a 3-1 defeat on England [ Images ] in their second practice match ahead of the Commonwealth Games [ Images ] in New Delhi [ Images ] on Tuesday.

Beside Sandeep, Tushar Khandekar chipped in with a field goal, while Ashley Jackson sounded the board for England at the Major Dhyan Chand national stadium.

Last Sunday, India had defeated England by a similar margin in their first practice match at the same venue.

India is placed with Australia [ Images ], Malaysia, Pakistan and Scotland in Group A. England, New Zealand [ Images ], Canada [ Images ], South Africa [ Images ] and Trinidad and Tobago form Group B.

The Commonwealth Games will be held from October 3 to 14 in the capital.
