Third seeds Leander Paes [ Images ] and Jurgen Melzer [ Images ] of Austria battled their way into the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters, beating Rohan Bopanna [ Images ] and Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi [ Images ] on Friday.

Paes-Melzer lost the first set, but fought back brilliantly against the younger Indo-Pak combination to win the quarter-final 6-7(6), 7-6(6), 10-4.

Paes and Melzer will meet top seeds Mike and Bob Bryan, who stormed into the final, beating the seventh seeded pair of Michal Mertinak and Frantisek Cermak 6-3, 6-2 in another quarter-final.

The Bryan brothers are seeking their fifth straight ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title.

Fourth seeds Lukasz Kubot [ Images ] and Oliver Marach [ Images ] also made it to the last four stage. They got the better of fifth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and his Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi [ Images ]  6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
