Somdev Devvarman failed to make the main draw of the ATP BMW Open after losing to Alexandre Sidorenko in the third and final round of the qualifying event in Munich, Germany, on Monday.
Second seeded Somdev went down 1-6, 2-6 to his French opponent in an hour and six minutes.
Somdev got six ranking points and 650 euros for making the third round.
He had two opportunities to break Sidorenko but could utilise none and dropped his serve twice to surrender the first set.
The Indian ace grabbed the only chance he got in the second set, but struggled to hold serve. He was broken thrice by Sidorenko and that was enough for the French player to seal a place in the main draw.
