India's [ Images ] Somdev Devvarman [ Images ] and Prakash Amritraj [ Images ] crashed out of the Australian Open [ Images ] with a disappointing 6-1, 6-3 loss to Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Australian Paul Hanley [ Images ] at Melbourne [ Images ] Park on Friday.
The Aspelin-Hanley pair dominated the game right from the outset, so much so that, the Indian pair didn't get a break point in the entire match.
Somdev and Amritraj committed many unforced errors, and never looked in the groove. While, Aspelin, a former doubles winner here, brought all his experience, to move into the third round of the Australian Open.
Sania Mirza [ Images ], who lost here singles campaign, earlier on Wednesday, starts her doubles campaign with Spain's Virginia Ruano Pascual, as the duo takes on Switzerland's [ Images ] Timea Bacsinszky and Italy's [ Images ] Tathiana Garbin, later in the day.
