Twente Enschede struck twice in the last eight minutes to win 2-1 at Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday and join Dutch league leaders PSV Eindhoven on 58 points.
PSV, top on goal difference, play their game in hand at fifth-placed Heracles Almelo on Sunday.
Vitesse defender Paul Verhaegh opened the scoring six minutes into the second half but Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz equalised with a shot from 16 metres, his 16th league goal of the season.
Then, in stoppage time, Blaise Nkufo set Ronnie Stam up for the winner for Steve McClaren's men who suffered their first defeat of the season at Ajax Amsterdam last week.
Dennis Rommedahl and Luis Suarez scored second-half goals to earn Ajax a 2-0 win at Heerenveen, who had Christian Grindheim sent off in the 73rd minute.
Ajax are third with 52 points from 23 games, 10 points more than Feyenoord who travel to Utrecht on Sunday.
