I-League: Churchill hold JCT after late surge

JCT squandered an early lead and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Churchill Brothers in their forth-round I-League match in Ludhiana on Friday.

After a barren first-half in the keenly contested match, the hosts surged ahead in the 68th minute when defender Baljit Singh Sahni found the back of the net, capitalising on an Ikechuku Orji pass.

JCT hung on to the lead till 88th minute when Churchill's Reisangmi Vashum scored to restore parity.

JCT now have eight points from four matches, while Churchill have six points after four outings.
