It's presenting time again and no guesses as to who's gonna get the Freddy mercury achievment award...ALISHA of course...like we didn't know.

Jeetu (Times FM DJ): To a very large extent, I think radio is a powerful medium, and making people listen to the radio is a difficult task. I think the events such as the Channel [V] awards help create some noise.

Dev Benegal: Led Zep, Queen are my favorites. Queen is in my movie English August. I grew up listening to Led Zep. Split Wide Open begins production in January 1997. It's about contemporary sexuality. My favorite Indian Artist has been determined by my two year old son Ishan, who listens to O Sanam about thirty eight times a day.

After the Led Zepp encounter, the stadium has quietened down. And with Mehnaz on stage, it appears as if the life has gone out of the proceedings.

Noyonika: I got a chance to be with some performers I never had a chance to be with. I had a chance to be in the Mein Hoon album (Mehnaaz's) because the kind of work I had to do was in keeping with my line of work. I love Bryan, Led Zep and Lucky Ali.

Okay: we have got the list of winners, so here it is... Best Dance: Los del Rio for Macarena. Best Indian pop song: Lezz and Hari for Sa Ni Dha Pa. Best Video director: Mahesh Mathai. Lifetime Achievement: Led Zep and Queen. Best intl pop album: Sting (Mercury Falling). Best Indian pop album (Colonial Cousins) who also win for best production values. They are all the Channel V Viewers Choice winners. The Ferddie Mercury award foes to believe it or not, Alisha Chinai!

Bappi Lahiri: I got all the singers here like Sharon PRabhakar and Usha Uthup. I like Daler and Remo. Good performer. I like Air Supplier. Excellent. They have sang without any support. LEd are the legends of Rock. With Habiba I got the Billboard for the first time. Now I'm doing something with awara Sur. I like the songs that are playing here tonight. I'm enjoying it. I'm the Bappi Lahiri who brought WEstern Music to this country.

Asha Bhosle: I am going to America with A R Rahman to record some Tamil and Telugu songs. I didn't expect a nomination, that too with all these rock stars. I liked Air Supply and seem to have got my supply from them. I like the way they camw without any orchestra and sang so well. I have cut discs with Boy George and I like doing all these things. Perhaps, that's because my heart is still young!

Jaaved Akhtar: I like the Hindi pop music but lyrics leave a lot to be desired. The music is peppy but the words are traditional. It should be in the language of today's youth, have their sensibilities and deal with their problems. What is this nonsensical language they use. WE have great talent - I think it can be used better. I'm very impressed by this boy Lucky Ali. His music is original, not wannabe. It is Lucky Ali. I like Hariharan and Lezz LEwis. There is a fallacy in believing that if you are doing modern music, you need not know a lot of music. You need the grammer. These people have the proper groundign.
