Jamali told reporters before an all-party meeting that the two countries would attempt to build a congenial atmosphere for a meaningful dialogue through ministerial and ambassadorial-level contacts.
Earlier, he told a Pakistani television channel that he was ready to go to India to further the peace process.
"I have written to the Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee that if he is unable to visit Pakistan,
for Pakistan, for India, for South Asia, I am ready to go there [India]. We are the well-wishers
of the humanity, this is the goal we have to achieve and all other things are of secondary importance," Jamali said.
"One-fifth of the total world population lives in the sub-continent, and peace will, inshallah, prevail in this region," he added.
Referring to India's decision to restore full diplomatic ties and air links on reciprocal basis, he said Pakistan would
respond positively.
