While the Indian men's hockey team stormed into the Olympic Games quarterfinal with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over defending champions Argentina, Sindhu sailed into the women's singles quarter-finals with a straight-game triumph over Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt.

Archer Atanu Das shocked stuns two-time Olympic champion South Korea's Oh Jinhyek 6-4 in the 2nd round of the men's individual event to move to the pre-quarterfinals after he beat Chinese Taipei's Deng Yu-Cheng in a five-setter earlier in the morning.

Earlier, pistol shooter Rahi Sanorbat shot 96, 97, 94 (287/300) in the Precision round of Qualification. She finished at 7th spot (out of 10 shooters). She will shoot tomorrow in Rapid round of Qualification.
