A short distance from the monastery of Pemayangtse is the most sacred lake in Sikkim -- Lake Khechephoeri or the Wishing Lake.
It is a quiet, mystical spot. Hundreds of prayer flags have been hung by pilgrims. In the foreground are chortens or stupas. Located in the midst of the forests, this clear, clean lake is situated at 2,000 m above sea level.
