How to get there:

There are direct flights, daily, from Calcutta and New Delhi to Bagdogra. And Bagdogra is just about 15 kms from New Jalpaiguri. Bombay, New Delhi and Calcutta are also connected by train to Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri. It is possible to hire taxis or take a bus from Bagdogra airport or Siliguri/ New Jalapiguri railway station to Darjeeling.

Where to stay

Hotels for all budgets are available. The West Bengal Tourism offices in Siliguri and Darjeeling are helpful with hotel addresses and phone numbers. It is best to book in advance during the busy May-June and October tourist seasons, unless you are prepared to go from hotel to hotel looking for scarce rooms.
