Sania dropped 10 places to 60 in the WTA rankings list released on Monday.
Ana Ivanovic [ Images ] held on to the number one spot but only just. She is now only 142 points ahead of fellow Serb Jelena Jankovic [ Images ], who is set to take the top spot when the rankings are released next week.

Somdev, making a swift transition to the pro tour, has risen 25 places to 320 and has taken over as the second-highest ranked Indian on the ATP. Starting the year at 1036, the 23-year-old has taken rapid strides after turning pro in May.
He held an unbeaten streak of 22 in professional matches, till he lost 4-6, 6-7 (6) to Japan's [ Images ] Go Soeda in the quarter-finals of the US $ 100,000 Vancouver Open last week.
Prakash Amritraj [ Images ] continues to be the top-ranked Indian at 222 while Rohan Bopanna [ Images ] is 328.
In doubles, Sania and Leander Paes [ Images ] stayed steady at 26 and 15 respectively, while Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] climbed a rung to nine in the rankings.
