Churchill Brothers on Sunday shared points with East Bengal with the scoreline reading 2-2 in an ONGC National Football League match that the Goa outfit dominated for most part.

Churchill went ahead in the third minute of the game and after missing several chances, conceded the equaliser in the 40th minute and were 1-2 down in the 65th minute, but managed to restore parity in the 83rd minute of the game.

The red and yellow brigade's defence was in shambles in the first half, but the Churchill forwards failed to make use of the chances that came their way and missed some sitters.

However, East Bengal got their act together in the second half and played much better soccer than what they displayed before the lemon break at the Barasat Stadium in Kolkatta.

Khemtang Paite put Churchill ahead in the third minute with a powerful shot from the top of the box after getting the ball owing to sloppy defending by EB players.

In a sudden counter-attack against the run of the play in the 40th minute, EB's Ashim Biswas entered the box menacingly from the right, only to be brought down by Churchill custodian Vinay Singh, resulting in a penalty for the home team.

Lanky striker Boniface Ambani made no mistake in converting the penalty and restored parity for East Bengal.

Ambani again scored in the 65th minute after getting a pass from I Arata near the centerline. He beat two defenders with sheer speed and hit a powerful shot into the Churchill goal.

Pressing on, Churchill got the equaliser in the 83rd minute, when D Raju scored from a melee inside the East Bengal box after custodian Rajat Ghosh Dastidar failed to collect a corner kick properly.
