Shiv Kapur carded a two-under 69 to jump 12 places to tied-fifth at the end of the third round in the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open golf tournament in Jakarta on Saturday.
With an aggregate of four-under 209, Kapur is four behind leader Frankie Minoza, who had one more hole to play when storm forced play to be suspended.
Twelve groups yet to finish their second round will return on Sunday to complete them.
In fact, the 25-year-old Indian was the clubhouse leader at four-under 209, as he had completed his third round while others ahead of him still had a few holes to play.
It was not such a good day for Gaurav Ghei, who from overnight fifth dropped way behind to tied 50th, as he was eight-over 15 holes despite starting the day with a birdie. He had two double bogeys and five bogeys.
SSP Chowrasia played a one-over 72 and at one-under 212l; he was tied 20th, a small fall from his overnight 17th.
Kapur had birdies on first and fourth and looked set for a good day. But back-to-back bogeys on seventh and eight halted his run. On the back nine, he birdied the 11th, 13th and 15th, but dropped a shot on the 12th to finish at 69 and come up to fifth.
Interestingly, Kapur had his best European Tour finish in Indonesia Open last year, when he tied for seventh.
Minoza, who started the day at three-under, was two-under for front nine with two birdies and no bogeys.
On the back nine, he had four birdies between 10th and 14th and one bogey on 12th. He then had three pars and had three mores holes to play when play was suspended.
Korea's Suk Jong-yul was two-under for the day and seven-under with two more to play, while Miko Ilonen bounced back after a rough front nine with a birdie and eagle on the 13th and 14th, when he had to stop play. He was also seven-under with four to play.
Overnight leader Andrew Tampion was three-over having found his first birdie of the day just before play was stopped. He is five-under for the tournament with four holes to play.
Earlier, when play resumed on Saturday, Rahil Gangjee retired and Amandeep Johl (73-76) missed the cut.
