Achanta Sharath Kamal and Poulomi Ghatak have been given top billing in men's and women's singles of the 37th All India Inter Institutional Table Tennis Championships scheduled to kick off in New Delhi on Saturday.
Subhajit Saha and Pathik Mehta are second and third seeds respectively, while Mouma Das and K Shamini take fourth and fifth slots in the women's draw.
Last year's Champions Petroleum Sports Promotion Board and Railways Sports Promotion Board have been given top seedings in the men's and women's team competition respectively.
In the men's team championships, 20 institutions will take part while nine will participate in the women's team championships.
The men's teams have been divided into four groups of five each as per the last year positions, while the women's teams have been divided into two groups. They will play one another in a round robin league system to determine the position in each group.
In the second stage of men's section, no.1 and no.2 teams from these groups shall play by progressive knock out system, to determine the 1 to 8 positions.
The team championship will start from Saturday while the individual events will start from August 26.
