Barring Shiv Kapur and Gaurav Ghei, the Indian challenge at the Volvo China Open was swept away in the high winds that made conditions difficult at the Shanghai Silport Golf Club.

Kapur shot a one-over 73 to be in tied 34th place at the halfway stage at three-over 145, while Ghei was one shot behind at 146 with a second successive round of 73.

Rahil Gangjee missed the cut, which came at 146, by two shots after rounds of 76 and 72, while Amandeep Johl was 110-over 152 with two rounds of 76.

SSP Chowrasia, 73 overnight, slumped to an 80 on the second day of the tournament, which is co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours.

Raphael Jacquelin of France fired a solid four-under-par 67 for a two-stroke lead over Australian Adam Blyth.

Jacquelin, 33, has been enjoying a good run of form over the past two weeks as he leads with a two-day total of seven-under-par 135 at the Shanghai Silport Golf Club. Hot on his trail is Blyth, who produced a similar score for lone second position.

Big-hitting Australian Scott Hend, who struck an eagle at the par-five 18th hole, and Andres Romero of Argentina also fired matching 67s for joint third place with a 138 total, while Scotsman Simon Yates, currently ranked 35th on the Asian Tour's UBS Order of Merit, enjoyed a bogey-free day with five birdies for fifth spot.
