Chelsea romped to a 4-1 home win over Everton in their FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday.
The London side, who were held 1-1 at Goodison Park in the original match, scored through Arjen Robben, Frank Lampard with a penalty, Hernan Crespo and captain John Terry.
Mikel Arteta replied for Everton with a second-half penalty.
Middlesbrough beat second-division Coventry City 1-0 in the night's other replay with a 20th minute strike from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Chelsea will now play third division Colchester United at home in the last 16, while Middlesbrough are away to Preston North End, who beat fellow first division side Crystal Palace in their replay on Tuesday.
Dutch winger Robben began the Chelsea rout with a fine goal midway through the first half.
Eidur Gudjohnsen sent a high ball out of the Chelsea half, Crespo took it on his chest and with his back to goal tapped it into the path of Robben, who controlled it with one touch and shot past debutant keeper Iain Turner.
Two goals in quick succession near the end of the half, both involving Frank Lampard, put the contest beyond Everton.
LAMPARD PENALTY
The England midfielder converted a penalty in the 36th minute after Shaun Wright-Phillips was brought down by Nuno Valente, then Lampard's right-footed free kick from the left to the near post was glanced in by the unmarked Crespo.
Arteta pulled one back for the visitors 16 minutes from time, putting a penalty past otherwise underemployed keeper Carlo Cudicini after handball by centre back Robert Huth.
Chelsea responded immediately, however, with Terry rifling the ball into the top far corner from the left after Huth's free kick on the right was deflected square by the wall.
"It was a comfortable night, another very good performance by us and we are delighted to be in the next round," Chelsea's assistant manager Steve Clarke told reporters.
Clarke added that he was pleased with the performances of players not usually in the starting lineup, particularly Wright-Phillips.
"He was absolutely magnificent tonight and I'm delighted for him," said Clarke.
"It has been a tough time for him, he moved for a big fee but was in and out of the team and he found that difficult.
"His performance tonight reminds everyone what a good player he is and why we paid so much money for him."
Everton manager David Moyes said: "They did to us what we wanted to do to them, they got in behind us. Some of it was good play and some bad defending.
"If you make simple mistakes then Chelsea, with their quality, will find you out and I was disappointed to give away goals like that at set pieces."
