Rose leads Raptors past Lakers

Jalen Rose scored 26 points, including eight straight in the latter stages of the fourth quarter, as the Toronto Raptors upset the Los Angeles Lakers 108-102 in National Basketball Association play on Sunday.

Rose scored 10 of the Raptors's last 12 points as Toronto finished the game on a 12-3 run after earlier blowing a 15-point lead.

The win was the third straight for the Raptors, who are unbeaten since the All-Star break.

Recently, there had been speculation that both Rose and Donyell Marshall might be dealt by the Raptors, but the pair stayed in Toronto as Thursday's trade deadline passed.

Marshall added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Raptors, who had 13 three-pointers in the game.

Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, had eight rebounds and eight assists for the Lakers, who lost their second straight contest after a season-high three-game winning streak.

Los Angeles was coming off a 111-90 drubbing at the hands of the defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons on Friday.

Matt Bonner and Rafer Alston both added 14 points for the Raptors.

Chucky Atkins had 22 points for the Lakers.

In other games, Vince Carter had 34 points and 11 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets stopped the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-98 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Jason Kidd added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets, while Nenad Krstic added 15 points.

LeBron James had 28 points to lead the Cavaliers. Jeff McInnis added 23 and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 20 points and 18 rebounds.

In Milwaukee, Michael Redd scored 35 points as the Bucks pounded the Seattle SuperSonics 99-73.

Desmond Mason added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Bucks, who held the Sonics to their lowest point total of the season.

Former Buck Ray Allen, in his first game in Milwaukee since being dealt to Seattle two seasons ago, had just 16 points.

In Houston, Matt Harpring scored 28 points as the Utah Jazz edged the Rockets 99-92.

Raja Bell added 23 points for the Jazz, who out-scored Houston 30-23 in the fourth quarter.

Tracy McGrady had 23 points to lead Houston.
