Narain Karthikeyan got a fair impression about the track at the Istanbul Park as he finished 22nd in Friday's first practice session ahead of the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix.
Narain, steering the Jordan-Toyota car, clocked a best time of 1 minute, 32. 886 seconds to come home behind teammates Portugal's Tiago Monteiro (20th, 1:32.147) and Denmark's Nicolas Keisa (21st, 1:32.501).
McLaren-Mercedes driver Pedro de la Rosa of Spain led the timings speeding to the finish in 1 minute, 27.882 seconds followed by teammate Kimi Raikkonen of Finland (1:28.453) and Australia's Mark Webber for Williams-BMW (1:28.765).
