Sandeep Singh scored a brace from drag-flicks as India handed out a 5-0 drubbing to Malaysia in the third "Test" to win the four-match junior hockey series in Delhi on Friday.

Sandeep Singh scored in the 4th and 26th minutes from two penalty-corners before India followed it up with three more goals through Vivek Gupta (29th), Suresh (50th) and Bikas Toppo (63rd) to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.

The fourth and final match of the series will be played in Chandigarh on Sunday.

India dominated the proceedings with goals at regular intervals as Malaysia struggled to find their rhythm at Shivaji Stadium.

"The boys played well although the midfielders were most impressive. They hardly gave any space in the middle and their game was intact," coach Harendra Singh told reporters after the match.

The series, Harendra said, provided good exposure to the team ahead of the next month's Asia Cup in Karachi.

"We made use of all the resources that we had at our disposal. So all the players were given a feel of the turf during the series," he said.

India, who recorded comprehensive wins in the first two "Tests", had no problem in quelling the challenge of Malaysia today.

The victory margin could have been much bigger for India but for several gilt-edged chances being missed.
