Formidable R. Umadevi of Karnataka was taken the distance by Mumbai's Anoo Kulkarni before romping to a 2-1 victory in an exciting Group 'B' match, in the seventh Bombay Gymkhana All India Ladies Open Snooker Tournament 2004, sponsored by CYGNUS, at the Bombay Gymkhana on Tuesday.

Umadevi scraped to a 57-13, 31-54, 57-19 win over her Bombay Gymkhana opponent to register her second win.

Defending champion Anuja Thakur of Mumbai enhanced her chances of making it to the quarter-finals by winning her third consecutive tie when she beat MP's Dr. Renu Bharkatiya 51-35, 67-17 in Group 'C'.
