World Athletics Final - Day 1 results

Kelli White, the first American to win the 100 and 200 metres sprint at the World Championships, put the controversy of a positive drug test behind to win the women's 200 metres at the inaugural World Athletics Final in Monaco on Saturday.

The 26-year-old White, who tested positive for the banned stimulant modafinil at last month's World Championships in Paris, won the event in 22.31 seconds.

France's Muriel Hurtis was second with a season's best time of 22.41s while Russia's Anastasia Kapachinskaya was third in 22.57. Torri Edwards placed fourth in 22.58.

It was also a good outing for American four-time World champion Allen Johnson, who ended the outdoor season unbeaten, winning the 110 metre hurdles in 13.11 seconds.

Compatriot Trammell Terrence finished second in 13.17 seconds while Olijars Stanislav of Latvia was third in 13.25s.

Johnson's countryman Jerome Young repeated his World Championships triumph, winning the 400 metres in 45.01 seconds. He was a clear winner over second-placed Michael Blackwood, who clocked 45.25s.

Alleyne Francique of Grenada also timed 45.25s but was placed third.
