Vijay Singh rose to second in the world rankings on Monday following his victory at the Funai Classic on the U.S. PGA Tour at the weekend.

The Fijian leapfrogged South African Ernie Els, who had held second place since January, after he shot a final round 67 to triumph at the Walt Disney World resort on Sunday.

The 40-year-old finished with a 23-under-par 265, four strokes ahead of joint second-placed Tiger Woods.

"I don't think I've had this kind of performance ever," said Singh. "It's been going on for a long time -- I just hope I don't wake up from this dream."

The former U.S Masters and U.S. PGA champion, who started the season ranked eighth, has two wins and six top-five finishes in his last 10 starts.

Singh's fourth win of the season also moved him to the top of the PGA Tour money list with $6,827,507 won, $250,094 ahead of the still runaway world number one Woods.

Two tournaments remain with Woods only playing in the season's finale at the Tour Championship in Houston in November where Singh is defending champion.
