Amritinder Singh shot a superb round of six-under 66 with seven birdies and just one bogey to climb to the tied 22nd spot in the US $500,000 Volvo China Open in Shanghai.

Amritinder, who struggled with an opening round of 77 on the first day, is now one-under 143 after two days.

Titleist-sponsored Uttam Singh Mundy, tied 13th at last week's Hero Honda Masters, shot a one-under 71 in the second round to move to par 144 for 36 holes and shares the 26th spot.

All seven Indians made the cut as Harmeet Kahlon improved on his first day 75 with a 70 on the second day, to be one-over 145 and in tied 32nd place.

Cosmo Films-supported Vijay Kumar (73, 73), Arjun Singh (76, 70) and Mukesh Kumar (74, 72) are in the bunch of players tied for 43rd place, while Firoz Ali (74, 74) is tied 61st.

On a cold and windy afternoon Korea's Choi Gwang-soo shot a course record-equaling eight-under-par 64 to power into a tie for the halfway lead with Australian Adam Fraser.

The 43-year-old Choi rolled in eight birdies against no bogeys to end the day alongside Fraser, who birdied two of his last three holes for a 67.
