Digvijay Singh toppled overnight leader Jeev Milkha Singh to leap to the top of the leader board with a four-under 68 on the penultimate day of the Hero Honda Masters Golf Championship at New Delhi on Saturday.

A three-round aggregate of 207 on the par-72 Delhi Golf and Country Club course ensured that Digvijay Singh holds a two-stroke advantage over second-placed Jyoti Randhawa and Gary Rusnak of the USA.

Rusnak and Randhawa, a two-time winner of the Masters, returned an aggregate of seven-under 209 to further relegate Jeev, who carded a one-over par 73 to slip to the joint sixth spot.

While Rusnak carded the day's best score of seven-under 65, Randhawa had a third-day score of 68, the same as leader Digvijay Singh.

Vijay Kumar too slipped from his overnight joint second place after he shot one-over 73 on a day when most of the field was still trying to come to terms with the treacherous course.

Digvijay Singh started the day with a bang bagging a first-hole eagle after hitting a four-wood tee shot down the centre of the fairway, and followed it up with a four-iron to set up a 20ft putt.

"It was the best possible start," said Singh, who also had birdies on the sixth and seventh holes, but dropped shot on the fourth. "This is the first time I am leading an event on the APGA Tour and it is a great feeling."

His back nine had three birdies on the tenth, thirteenth and fourteenth, but was guilty of dropping shots on the twelfth and the sixteenth.
