Prakash AmritrajSecond seed Prakash Amritraj decimated Vijay Kannan in straight sets to win the second-leg of the ITF men's singles Satellite tournament in Chandigarh on Saturday.

The US-based Indian won 6-3, 6-1 in a little under 70 minutes.

Amritraj made his intentions clear from the first game by attacking the net and forcing Kannan to commit silly mistakes.

"I attacked the net forcing my opponent to go on the defensive. I knew I had a crafty opponent and beating him wouldn't be a cakewalk, but the fact that I came out mentally tougher in the match helped me to win," Amritraj said after the match.

After surrendering the first set meekly, Kannan never looked like recovering and his woes continued in the second set as well as he conceded three service breaks to his 19-year-old opponent.

"This was definitely my best match so far and first title at this level after turning professional.

"It is nice to play at this level and come out winner in the end. I lost my serve only once throughout the tournament," Amritraj said, looking quite satisfied with his performance in the tournament.
