Arjun Singh wins Chandigarh Open

A brief fightback by Harmeet Kahlon proved insufficient to upstage Arjun Singh in the Hero Golf 2001 Chandigarh Open on Saturday.

Arjun's tally of ten-under 278 was enough to give the Delhi Golf Club pro the title in the seventh leg of the 2001-2002 season's Hero Honda Golf Tour, which was played at the par-72,7,052-yard Chandigarh Golf Club.

Amateur golfer Gurbaaz Mann finished at seven-under 281, three strokes behind Arjun, but was forced to relinquish the second position to K S Sibia due to his amateur status.

Sibia tallied five under 283 while Rajiv Kumar, another local pro finished third at 284.

Another Chandigarh golfer Amandeep Johl finished fourth at 285.

The country's top-ranked golfer Mukesh Kumar of Mhow, occupied the fifth spot at 286. The duo of Rohtas Singh (Delhi) and Harmeet Kahlon (Chandigarh) were tied-sixth at 287.

Defending champion Chandigarh's Amritinder Singh finished tied- 12th at 291.
