Karthikeyan gets another Jordan test drive

Indian race driver Narain Karthikeyan has been given a second test drive with Formula One team Jordan later this week, one of his sponsors said on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old will test drive at the Monza circuit in Italy on Friday, they said in a statement.

Karthikeyan first test drove for Jordon at Silverstone last month after becoming the first Indian to drive a Formula One car in June with Jaguar.

The Indian, who is currently racing for the excite IMPUL team in Japan's Formula Nippon, is one of the Formula One aspirants to impress Jordon team owner Eddie Jordan.

"A good finish in the first test has won me a second and I'm delighted to be given another chance to test with the Jordan team," Karthikeyan was quoted as saying in the statement.

He said his previous experience in the EJ11 car should help him perform better the second time.

"Hopefully this will help me in my ambition to be a Formula One driver. If I can put on a good show, maybe they might consider me for a seat next year or even as a test driver," Karthikeyan added.
