The incumbent captain became only the fourth Dutch player to complete a century of international caps when he started against Denmark in their opening Group E match at Soccer City.
The 35-year-old Feyenoord player, who has scored five goals since his debut against Brazil in August 1996, joined the trio of Edwin van der Sar (130 caps), Frank de Boer (112) and Phillip Cocu (101).
