It has been said that the Portuguese star will make his debut as a Real Madrid in the friendly on Monday.

Real Madrid will require all of Ronaldo's skills not only against Shamrock Rovers but throughout the next season if they are to overcome the disappointment of this season when they failed to win any silverware.

Ronaldo has been quoted as saying that he will show he is worth the world-record transfer fee of 80 million pounds ($131.3 million) that Real Madrid paid Manchester United for him.

"I respect everyone's opinion but I don't agree with these people (who have criticised the fee)," the Portugal winger told sports daily Marca in an interview.
