Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has finally got accreditation for the Commonwealth Games.

Talking to newspersons on Wednesday, he said he received it only because of his statement in the media about not receiving it a couple of days back.

He was responding to a question from rediff.com. "Thanks to you people I have got it," he said with a broad smile.

Asked about the security arrangements for the Games, which open on October 3, he replied he is 'never satisfied with anything'.

"I am not satisfied with the security as we could have done better," he said, before adding, "We are confident that we should be able to provide fool proof security cover during the Games."

The Delhi police has 80,000 personnel on Games duty. In addition, there is the paramilitary force, Central Reserve Police and Rashtriya Rifles at various venues.

He refused to say anything about the cover being provided by the Air Force and deployment of helicopters for cover in air.

"The best person to answer this question is the air headquarters. I visited three stadiums, the Talkatora swimming pool and Siri Fort and I am satisfied with the arrangements," he said.
