Indian wrestlers win Rustem-e-Indo-Pak title

Indian wrestlers on Sunday beat their Pakistani counterparts to clinch Mission Dosti Rustem-E-Indo-Pak Wrestling title at Katra in Jammu.

Rehmat Ali of Punjab [ Images ] helped India [ Images ] retain the first Mission Dosti Rustem-E-Indo-Pak Wrestling title, Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ] Indian Style Wrestling Association President Shiv Kumar Sharma said.

Rehmat Ali defeated his Pakistani rival Yousaf Riaz in a 17-minute final bout, Sharma said.

Rehmat Ali was awarded a silver Gadda, Patta and cash prize of Rs 11,000 and the runners-up got Rs 10,000.

In other main contests, Abdul Gani of Punjab defeated Sumit of Delhi [ Images ] and Kulbir Singh of Jammu defeated Safdar Ali of Lahore [ Images ].

Another Pakistani Muhammed Umair of Multan defeated Indian Wrestler Benia of Udhampur.

In the six bouts, Indians won five while Pakistanis managed to win only one.
