After winning four gold medals on the trot, India's ace marksman Gagan Narang's campaign ended on a disappointing note at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, on Wednesday.

Narang failed to win a medal in his last two events, which also saw him missing out on completing a clean sweep of six gold medals at the Games.

The shooter was visibly disappointed after his sixth and final event -- 50-metres Rifle Prone -- where he didn't even qualify for the final.

"We are happy. I think we should look at the positives, but I could have done better," Narang said.

gagan narangThe Hyderabadi started off the Games in some style as he stormed to four gold medals in 10m air rifle in both singles and pairs, and in the 50m rifle 3 positions in both singles and pairs.

And, creating new Games records in all four triumphs was the icing on the cake.

"The idea was to get a maximum number of gold medals, but four gold medals with four new records is good. I am struggling in the prone position."

Narang was also unlucky that he missed out on a medal in the 50-metres Rifle Prone pairs event because his partner Hariom Singh was unwell.

He also dismissed the theory that the pressure of performing at home may have contributed in his defeat.

"The pressure is always there. We could have done better in the pairs event (Men's 50m Rifle Prone Pairs), but both of us (Singh included) are equally responsible for it (failure). We will learn a lot from this loss."

Coach Stanislav Lapidus pointed out that Narang's performance in the Prone events were not up to the mark because his gun was not functioning well.

"I am not satisfied. This rifle cannot give you a medal from this competition. In the Prone event it's very necessary to get a good rifle. I am happy with the overall performance but I was expecting more from Gagan. But don't blame him, you can blame his gun," Lapidus said.
