Indian boxer Vijender Singh's appeal overĀ "unfair penalty points" awarded to his opponent during the semi-final bout was rejected by the Commonwealth Games Federation on Tuesday.
The offiicals rejected India's protest over the four penalty points docked against world number one Vijender in his 75-kg middleweight semi-final defeat by Anthony Ogogo of England on Monday.
The Beijing Olympics bronze medallist appeared heading for victory after taking a 3-0 lead in the third and final round of the bout at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium before he was controversially penalised twice for fouls in a dramatic turnaround of fortunes.
Ogogo got four points from the two fouls and went on to win 4-3, scoring all his points from penalties.
The Indian team officials were furious and lodged a protest later.
Vijender will have settle for a bronze medal.
