Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat, winner of 23 international titles, including Olympic gold and a world championship, has finally broken his Super Series jinx.
The former world No.1 defeated Denmark's Joachim Persson 21-16, 21-11 in Sunday's French Open final.
The win, in the fourth year of Super Series competition, should see Hidayat, 29, break into the top eight and contest the finals in Taiwan in January.
"I'm glad to finally win here," Hidayat, who lost the world championship final at the same Paris stadium in August, told the Badminton World Federation website.
"It feels great to add this title to my collection and also end my Super Series jinx."
