Professional golfers of Indian and sub-continental origin, currently playing in Europe and America, will be seen in action at the $300,000 Hero Honda Women's Indian open golf tournament from November 11 in Gurgoan.
They will battle with European number one and two -- Lee Anne Pace of South Africa and Laura Davies -- and Asia number one Phatlum Pornanong, who has won the title twice.
Kiran Matharu, from England is of Indian origin, and she has played in India in the past. She will now be joined by the likes of Sahra Hassan of Wales, who last year made her pro debut at the Indian Open.
Salimah Mussani and fellow Canadian Canadian Seema Sadekar will also be teeing up at the event at the DLF Golf and Country Club.
Mussani, whose family hails from East Africa, has origins going back to the sub-continent.
Salimah was diagnosed with Lupus in her junior year at Stanford in 2000. Lupus is an autoimmune disorder where one's body, essentially, attacks itself.
A total of 123 players will be playing for a total purse of $300,000 -- the highest ever in the history of Women's professional golf.
