Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi on Saturday missed out on their second ATP Tour title of the season as they lost the final of the Nice event in France despite a rollicking start.
Bopanna and Qureshi had grabbed a one-set lead in quick time but could not survive the counter-attack of Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares to lose 6-1, 3-6, 5-10 in one hour and 13 minutes.
The third seeded Brazilian duo captured their first ATP World Tour doubles title together and pocked Euro 21,650 as a team and 250 points each.
Bopanna and Qureshi split Euro 11,360 as prize money and earned 150 ATP ranking points each.
Bopanna and Qureshi had won their first title of the season together at Johannesburg in February. Last month they had lost in the final of the Casablanca event.
They also made two finals of the ATP Challenger tour in March, winning in Jersey, Great Britain while losing in Italy.
