Man City ready to get Torres at right price

July 26, 2010 15:09 IST

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to bid for Liverpool ace striker Fernando Torres and battle it out with Chelsea to get the Spanish forward.

Mancini said: "Torres is one of the best strikers in Europe and is already playing in the Premier League for three years and knows it very well."

"But it depends on his situation, his price and if he wants to come. There are two or three strikers we could go for. The choices we have are fantastic players," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

Other players Mancini fancies include Wolfsburg's Bosnian ace Edin Dzeko and 19-year-old Mario Balotelli of Inter Milan.

Last week, Didier Drogba's agent Thierno Seydi claimed to have had direct talks with City about signing the Chelsea star.

Mancini still wants Aston Villa midfielder James Milner but confirmed he will not pay over the odds.

City insists their 24 million pounds bid is their final offer.

Mancini said: "When Manchester City enquire about a 10 million pound player, the club asks for 20 million pound. That is not good for us. James is still a player who interests us but only at the right price."
