Extending his good run further, Services boxer Suranjoy Singh on Saturday routed local boy Sanjay Kolte 7-2 on the fourth day of the 4th Super Cup Inter zonal Boxing Championship in Mumbai.
Suranjoy, the gold medal winner of the prestigious President Cup, took a 1-0 lead against the South Zone Yellow boxer at the end of the first round, and increased it to 3-1 by the end of second round.
In the semi-finals of the light fly-weight category, Services boxer Nanao Singh won an intense bout against Amarjit Singh of South Zone Yellow 18-7.
Nanao outscored his opponent in the first round to take a 8-0 lead.
The second round saw both the boxers scoring at an equal pace. So, although Amarjit Singh scored four crucial points, he was still trailing Nanao by eight points.
The difference was too much for Amarjit to close in the remaining rounds, as Nanao pocketed the bout.
In an other match Services boxer Amandeep Singh defeated North Zone Green Amandeep Singh 9-6.
