A R Rehman has been hearing a lot of "bad stories" about the Delhi Commonwealth Games but convinced that they are not true, the Oscar-winning composer of the event's theme song on Monday urged the media to portray a positive image of the country.
Rahman said he heard a lot of negative stories about the October 3-14 Games while he was in London and felt all the bad press is sullying India's image aboard.
"I have read a lot of bad stories about the Commonwealth Games during my stay in London. I am sure this is not true. We are doing a lot of positive things here," Rahman said on the sidelines of a promotional event here.
"I would request the media to please portray a positive image of the Delhi Games and India. Thousands of professional people are working on the Games," he added.
The Commonwealth Games have been marred by allegations of financial irregularities and delay of construction work, inviting criticism from the media both here and abroad.
