England footballer David Beckham is reportedly upset after learning that his elder sister is living on a 164-pounds-per-week state hand-outs in Britain.

According to the Daily Express, Lynne, 38, started claiming benefits after splitting from her husband, Colin Every, and starting a fresh relationship with a man she met on a social networking site.

Her new live-in boyfriend reportedly has a criminal record for violence.

A mother of three children, Lynne stays in a 250,000 pounds house in Romford, Essex, that was bought by David Beckham.

"David had no idea Lynne was on benefits. He bought her the house she lives in. He has always provided for her and her children," the Daily Mail quoted a friend as saying.

"He has given her money and anything she needs, so he is clearly baffled and really quite upset," the source added.

Meanwhile, Hollywood actress Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker were seen cheering for Beckham at an MLS match between LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

According to the Daily Mail, standing on the terrace of the private viewing box, Eva, 35, waved and gesticulated to Beckham, who was sitting on the sidelines of the pitch and Beckham reciprocated by smiling back.
