India international goalkeeper Subrata Paul will not be going for trials at Canadian football club Vancouver Whitecaps.
Reports in the Indian and Canadian media said Paul would go for trials in Canada later this week after getting his visa.
But, said on Thursday that he has no plans to go to Canada for trial at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
"I am not going to Canada," the Pune FC goalkeeper said from Kolkata, when asked when he would be leaving for that country.
Asked about the reports that he was to go for a trial at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Paul just said, "I am concentrating on my I-League match tomorrow against Chirag United (in Kolkata)."
Vancouver Whitecaps FC are a side currently playing in the United States Soccer Federation Pro League Division 2 and they would make their debut in the Major League Soccer next season -from March 2011.
Apparently Paul, India's number one goalkeeper, is having second thoughts on going to Vancouver as the transfer season in Canada ends on April 15 though there is another window in July.
Paul's India team-mate Sunil Chhetri recently signed up for Major League Soccer side Kansas City Wizards.
