Indian women's hockey team suffered their second successive defeat at the hands of Asian giants China, who blanked them 4-0 to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series at Shanghai on Thursday.

China had earlier beaten the touring Indian team 6-4 in the first Test on Tuesday.

For China, Wang Men Gyu (13th and 53rd minutes) sounded the board twice while Tu Bao Rong Fu (33rd) and Zhao Yu Diao (62nd) chipped in with one goal apiece.

India earned five first half penalty corners but were not able to beat the Chinese defence. In comparison, the hosts got nine penalty corners.

India will play their last match on Friday.

This tour is in preparation for the Womens World Cup to be held at Rosario, Argentina in later this year.
