Ranty Martins scored once in each half to guide Dempo to a convincing 3-1 victory over Al Faisaly and a berth in the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup, at the Nehru Stadium in Margao, Goa, on Tuesday.
Martins scored in the first and 53rd minute while Roberto D'Silva put the issue beyond doubt with a 66th minute strike.
Moayad Abukeshek's goal in the 35th minute reduced the margin for the visitors.
Dempo finished their league engagements in second place with ten points and became second team to enter the quarter-finals from the Group E.
Al Maged, who lead the table with 10 points, were the first team to qualify for the knock-out stage.
Dempo's coach Armando Colaco was happy with his team's performance but hinted that fatigue is a matter of concern for his side in the next outing.
"We now play our quarter-final match on May 26 and I do not know how they [the players] will cope, as they are tired after the end of the season," said Colaco.
Dempo, who needed an outright win to enter the knock-out stage, secured the lead in the first minute when Clifford Miranda gave a diagonal pass to unmarked Martins, who bulged the net.
The early goal boosted Dempo's spirits and they probed more often, creating a handful of scoring opportunities, but Martins and Roberto failed to capitalise on them.
Faisaly 'keeper AL Elamaireh also came to his side's rescue when he dived to his left to put the ball out following a Climax Lawerence header off a flag-kick, taken by Anthony Fernandes.
The visitors earned a penalty in the 35th minute when defender John Dias fouled Momen Abu Althenin inside the box and referee Tseytlin Vladislav pointed the dreaded spot. Moayad Abukeshek converted from it to restore parity.
Anthony Fernandes, who worked hard on the right flank, kept Dempo's strikers busy with teasing crosses even as they continued to dictate terms in the second half.
The home side regained the lead in the 53rd minute through a penalty after Martins was brought down dangerously inside the box by Mohammed Shawish. Martins converted easily.
Roberto D'silva then made the issue safe for the hosts when he got the better of couple of rival defenders and the keeper before finding the net off a pass from Martins in the 66th minute.
Referee Vladislav showed the yellow card to Faisaly's Razzaq Farhan Moussa, Mohammad Shawish and Dempo's Martins.
