Ritu Rani scored a hat-trick as India went on a goal-scoring spree to thump Canada 8-1 in their second pool match in the women's Champions Challenge hockey tournament in Kazan, Russia, on Monday.
Rani (54th minute, 63rd and 70th), Rani Rampal (57th, 61st), Deepika Thakur (6th), skipper Surinfer Kaur (29th) and Mamta Kharb (67th) scored at will as India registered their second victory in the tournament from as many matches.
Jessalyn Walkey (10th minute) was the lone goal scorer for Canada.
India had earlier defeated Belgium 5-3 in Pool A in the tournament opener on Sunday.
After a rest day on Tuesday, the Indians take on Belarus in their final pool match on Wednesday.
