After a long time, Somdev achieved a desired result on the circuit and was rewarded in the latest ATP rankings for his brilliant run.
Prakash Amritraj, however, continued his slide as his ranking dipped further to 264, a drop of 10 positions.
Leander Paes (6) and Mahesh Bhupathi (8) had their doubles rankings unchanged.
In the women's rankings, Sania Mirza marginally improved both singles and doubles rankings. She rose two rungs to 83 in singles and gained three positions, rising to 39 in doubles.
