Active Indian Davis Cup players will surely figure in the coming Aircel ATP Chennai Open commencing on January 3, organisers said on Sunday.

Wild cards for the event's main draw will be announced by the Organising Committee on Monday, Karti Chidambaram, chairman, organising committee of the Chennai Open, said in Chennai.

"I can assure you that all the present Indian Davis Cup team and active players will figure in this year's Chennai Open," Karti Chidambaram, who is also the vice president of AITA and TNTA, said.

"We want the coming ATP event to be different from the previous editions. A number of Indians travel to different cities in the world to watch Formula One races. We have brought in a number of innovative initiatives to attract more Indian fans to visit Chennai to witness the ATP event, the only one in South Asia", he added.

Vishnu Mohan, former India No 3 player, who figured in the Mixed Wimbledon doubles championship in 1955, died in Chennai on Saturday, family members said.

Vishnu Mohan, 83, was keeping good health but all of a sudden developed some problems a week ago, the family added.

He is survived by a wife and three daughters.

Vishu Mohan, an extremely strong doubles player, played the qualifying matches in Wimbledon but eventually figured in the Mixed Doubles. Ranked No 3 in India, he had won national titles in the Indian domestic circuit and represented India in the then Indo-Ceylon championships regularly.
