A day after the recurve archers put up a creditable show, national champion Chinna Raju Srither shot 1385 points in the men's compound section – the highest by any Indian -- in the ongoing Archery World Cup Stage-I in Santo Domingo.

Riding on the four-distance (90m, 70m, 50m and 30m) total of 1385 points, Srither figured 10th in the points tally, on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in the men's compound section, Chungda Sherpa shot a perfect 360/360 in the 30m distance section to touch another milestone in Indian archery.

The overall score of 1364 by Sherpa, who was one among the seven to attain the perfect 360, placed him 17th in the ladder.

A day after an excellent show by Rahul Banerjee and Mangal Singh Champia, who attained one-two in the FITA round men's qualification in the recurve section, compound archers brought a lot of satisfaction to the Indian camp.

Maisnam Chinglensana Luwang (1347) was 32nd, while Khuraijam Ratan Singh (1346) 33rd.

The compound quartet belong to the Army Sports Institute in Pune.

In the men's team event, Ratan, Sherpa and Srither totalled 4095 points to end up fourth in the qualification behind the US (4172), Canada (4155) and El Salvador (4118).

The Indian women too did a commendable job, finishing fourth in team qualification round.

Jhano Hansdah (1362, 11th place), Bheigyabati Chanu (1345, 18th) and Manjudha Soy (1341, 19th) powered India to 4048, behind USA (4137), Venezuela (4082) and Mexico (4064).

Vrushali Gorle, ended 15th with 1355 points.

The mixed duo of Srither and Jhano (2747) lost out on a semi-final place to Mexico's uncle-niece pair of Almendra Ochoa and Ruben Ochao (2748) in an otherwise very significant day for India.
